Pilot to offer B99 Biodiesel for Fleets

Pilot Travel Centers will now offer B99 biodiesel fuel for fleets. The company made the announcement in recognition of National Biodiesel Day on March 18, 2025. Pilot is celebrating the installation of the country’s first B99 biodiesel retail offering for commercial fleets. The first pumps have been installed at its travel center in Decatur, Illinois.
A Three-Way Effort
Pilot said this effort was made possible through collaboration with PepsiCo and ADM. PepsiCo operates of one of North America’s largest private fleets. ADM is a global agricultural supply chain manager and processor.
Pilot said the three-way effort highlights the importance of partnerships to help drive sustainability goals in the trucking industry.
According to Pillot, this development sets a milestone in sustainable energy. It does so by bringing B99 into the travel center space. This helps make low-carbon solutions more accessible to fleets.
B99 biodiesel is a lower-carbon fuel that is driving a cleaner future for hard-to-decarbonize sectors like long-haul trucking.
Biodiesel is manufactured from vegetable oils, animal fats or recycled grease and can improve fuel efficiency and help reduce carbon emissions in commercial trucking.
Optimus Technologies, a fleet sustainability innovator, enabled this rollout through its development of technology that upgrades diesel engines to operate on up to 100% biodiesel.
