In September 2022, the City of Bloomington’s Department of Economic and Sustainable Development launched its community climate action platform, Zero In Bloomington, to enhance community-driven climate action and highlight opportunities for residents to participate in achieving the city’s climate action goals.
The platform delivers customized recommendations on how to lower carbon emissions based on a personalized household carbon footprint generated when a resident completes their household’s profile. Registrants also will receive access to more than 100 local, state, and federal resources for how to manage their emissions in a cost-effective and impactful way.
With over 100 actions listed on the site, participants can support a wide range of the initiatives highlighted in the City’s 2021 Climate Action Plan, including tackling issues related to waste management, alternative transportation, energy efficiency, and health and safety.
