Greater Indiana is excited to welcome Waylon O’Donnell as our Events and Communications Coordinator.
In this role, O’Donnell will organize and execute events, projects, and educational outreach endeavors through conception. He will craft digital marketing materials based on the needs of Greater Indiana and the nonprofit’s stakeholders.
Before joining Greater Indiana, O’Donnell was a Multimedia Journalist for the Daily Journal and Ashland Source, covering various topics, including education, government affairs, lifestyle, and environmental affairs. He also served as Program Director for 104.5 WQKT in Wooster, Ohio, where he reported on local news and Ohio-based sports teams, including the Browns, Guardians, Buckeyes, and Cavaliers. O’Donnell also served as Marketing Coordinator for the Ashland County Cancer Association, a nonprofit that assists county cancer patients. He oversaw digital content creation and the organization’s transportation program. O’Donnell completed a marketing and community relations internship with the Ashland Area Chamber of Commerce and served on the steering committee for the Ashland Young Professionals.
Prior to moving to Indiana, O’Donnell completed three contracts as a Game Show Host for Carnival Cruise Lines. He currently hosts trivia at multiple venues in the downtown Indianapolis area.
O’Donnell holds a Master’s degree in Communication and Leadership from Gonzaga University and a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism and Digital Media with minors in Public Relations and Theatre from Ashland University. He aspires to become an adjunct professor at a local institution while continuing to serve Greater Indiana.
