Greater Indiana’s Executive Director, Kerri Garvin, was in Washington, D.C., for the SAFE Summit Conference, representing Greater Indiana as a Community Partner for the conference. Kerri also led the organization’s National Policy Maker Education Meetings, joined by Greater Indiana Members.
The SAFE Summit invited “top government officials, business leaders, and other stakeholders from the United States and allied nations to address the challenges to achieving secure and reliable supply chains in the transportation and energy sectors.” The focus of the conference was to create discussions surrounding the future of the nation’s transportation industry with the enactment of the Inflation Reduction Act and the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act. The SAFE Summit provided a unique opportunity for leaders in the clean transportation industry to network, helping to build partnerships with each other and key congressional and administration policymakers in Washington, D.C.
While attending the SAFE Summit, Kerri met up with some of our partners, like Cummins, Clean Fuels Alliance America, and Renewable Fuels Association, to speak with Whitehouse officials. The National Policymaker Education Meetings inform legislators about Greater Indiana’s services and the alternative fuel transportation projects happening around the state. In addition, Greater Indiana’s members highlighted their work to promote alternative fuels and technologies in Indiana.
