POET, the world’s largest biofuels producer, has reopened its bioprocessing facility in Cloverdale, Indiana, signaling a promising future for the bioeconomy. The reopening event featured remarks from Indiana Governor Eric Holcomb, Lt. Governor Suzanne Crouch, U.S. Rep. Jim Baird, and POET’s executive leadership.
POET has invested $30 million in upgrades and new technology at the facility, increasing its annual bioethanol production capacity from 80 million to 95 million gallons. The facility will create 50 full-time jobs and boost demand for 34 million bushels of Indiana corn annually. The reopening was made possible by improved federal management of the Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS) and strong support for E15 (a 15% bioethanol blend) from key Indiana policymakers.
Greater Indiana members in the agricultural sector, such as the B20 Club of Indiana, Indiana Soybean Alliance, and Indiana Corn Marketing Council, are among many biofuel educators and resources across the state. This facility represents POET’s commitment to sustainable biofuels and its partnership with American farmers to build a more sustainable world.
