Each year, Blue Bird hosts an annual meeting for industry leaders and partners to share successes from the past year and — more importantly — discuss strategic initiatives for the year ahead as we continue to serve thousands of school districts and millions of students across the country.

It’s a true gift to be connected to thousands of people who are making a difference in the lives of children everyday. In fact, their amazing family has grown to 200,000 teammates, partners, drivers and advocates! These folks fuel what can be considered the largest mass transit system in the U.S.: school transportation. Since 2012, this diverse collaborative of alternative fuel partners has been dedicated to leading the way in school bus innovation, sustainability, product quality, reliability, and durability.

Blue Bird is the only school bus manufacturer that brings a full suite of alternative fuel options to the market. Blue Bird and Roush CleanTech’s shared commitment to reducing harmful emissions in a financially sustainable way has helped bring cleaner air to 1.3 million students and more than 1,100 communities around the nation. The results so far are staggering: 22,000 Roush-powered propane buses have saved districts more than $1 billion dollars and displaced millions of pounds of harmful emissions such as NOx and particulate matter from the environment.

Together, they are doubling down on their pledge to continue to innovate with solutions that will keep children, drivers, technicians and the communities in which they operate safe for years to come.
