Last week, the
Greater Indiana team witnessed Gov. Eric Holcomb and Entek executives break ground on a
$1.5 billion manufacturing campus in Terre Haute. Entek’s CEO, Larry Keith, expressed gratitude for the support received from President Biden and his administration, emphasizing that the project marks a significant step in advancing advanced battery development and production within the U.S. The Terre Haute facility is expected to generate over 640 high-wage jobs by late 2027, contributing to the region’s economic growth. This facility will have the capacity to produce battery separators for approximately 1.4 million vehicles each year. Entek’s decision to set up operations in Indiana solidifies the state’s position in the electric vehicle (EV) supply chain sector.
Over the weekend, our team attended JCREMC EV day! JCREMC is a cooperative electric utility that supplies electric service to more than 26,000 meters in Johnson County and portions of Morgan, Shelby, and Brown counties. The event allowed attendees to experience test drives and ride-alongs in electric vehicles, closely examine various EV models, and discover JCREMC programs designed to enhance the affordability of EV ownership. This free event represents just one of the ways the local electric cooperative is aiding its members who are contemplating purchasing an electric vehicle.
