The Indiana Sustainability and Resilience Conference (ISRC) is set to bring together Hoosier climate leaders, including the Greater Indiana team, for a day of collaboration, knowledge-sharing, and networking to advance climate resilience in the state. Hosted by Indiana University’s Environmental Resilience Institute with support from the McKinney Family Foundation, this annual event fosters cross-sector collaboration, featuring speakers, panels, and workshops covering topics such as climate pollution reduction planning, funding for resilience implementation, corporate climate leadership, and more. Michelle Moore, CEO of Groundswell, will deliver the keynote address, offering insights into building community power and increasing economic opportunity through renewable energy initiatives.
In collaboration with HNTB, Greater Indiana will contribute to the conference by presenting the “Empowering Electric Mobility for All” workshop session. This session will delve into the critical role of electric vehicles (EVs) in decarbonizing the U.S. transportation sector. Greater Indiana and HNTB will share insights on the Indiana Department of Transportation’s nearly $100 million investment in building an EV charging network and other initiatives aimed at promoting sustainable transportation and alternative fuels. Registration is full, and we look forward to seeing our members and networking with Hoosier climate leaders.
Scheduled for Friday, Feb. 9, 2024, at the IUPUI Campus Center, the conference aims to enhance cross-sector collaboration, share best practices, and strengthen Indiana’s climate and resilience network. With more than 350 participants expected, the event will feature training, speakers, and panels, providing a comprehensive exploration of sustainability and resilience topics.
