Introducing Prairie View RNG

Kinder Morgan RNG has expanded its renewable natural gas (RNG) portfolio with the Prairie View RNG facility in Wyatt, Indiana. The plant, in operation since December 20, 2023, captures and upgrades landfill gas from the Prairie View Landfill, which is expected to contribute around 0.8 billion cubic feet of RNG annually. This complements Kinder Morgan RNG’s Twin Bridges and Liberty landfill RNG facilities, bringing the total annual RNG capacity to approximately 3.9 billion cubic feet. When used as a transportation fuel, the RNG generated from these facilities could displace around 28 million gallons of diesel annually, reducing greenhouse gas emissions by about 280,000 tons.
