To share Electrify America’s mission to “lead with sustainable innovation, promote equity and diversity, and empower our communities to enable accessible electric transportation,” Greater Indiana has been participating in ride-and-drive events across the state – sharing information on state EV projects and programs, federal and utility incentives and tax credits, infrastructure improvements, and current EV models. This last weekend, the Greater Indiana team attended the Indy EV Showcase. The event, organized by Knozone and the City of Indianapolis Office of Sustainability, offered test drives of new-model EVs, charger demonstrations, insights into incentives for EV owners, and a chance to connect with local EV enthusiasts.
We enjoyed talking with the Indianapolis community and touching base with some of our members. Our friends at McGavic Outdoor Power brought a GEM, which is an LSEV (Low-Speed Electric Vehicle), for attendees to ride around the event. AAA showcased its roadside services with its Pit Crew van. Though this is the last ride-and-drive event of 2023 before the colder side of fall comes, we are excited to have seen an increase in these events and a growth in attendance.
We look forward to providing more opportunities for communities to experience sustainable transportation next year.
