By the fall of 2023, there could be a fully operational facility in Wyatt, Indiana, that can convert landfill gas to renewable natural gas. The Prairie View Landfill, owned by Waste Management, is currently under construction for Kinder Morgan’s $30 million project. Once it is fully operational, the facility is predicted to be able to process 4.3 million cubic feet of gas per day.

Currently, the gas produced at the Prairie View Landfill is either captured for electrical production or burned off. With the new facility, Kinder Morgan will sell the collected landfill gas (LFG) to its customers in the transportation sector.”
