The Indiana Volkswagen Environmental Mitigation Trust Program announced the availability of grant funding for clean air projects that will significantly reduce diesel emissions across Indiana.
The statewide program is supported with funds from Indiana’s portion of the national Volkswagen Mitigation Trust Fund and is focused on equipment and vehicle repowers and replacements with newer, cleaner alternatives of various fuel types.
The total available funding for this competitive grant opportunity is $12 million. The additional $2.14 million will be awarded at Indiana’s discretion within the vehicle and equipment categories: Class 4 – 8 Onroad Equipment and Vehicles (excluding school buses), Non-Electric School Buses, Electric School Buses, and Nonroad Equipment and Vehicles.
The application deadline for Round 3 is June 1, 2021, at 5:00 PM EDT. The Indiana Volkswagen Environmental Mitigation Trust Fund Committee expects to select projects by July 2021 with funds awarded soon thereafter.
