Indiana Sustainability and Resilience Conference
October 26 – October 27, 2021 – 1:00pm – 4:00pm EDT
The 2021 Indiana Sustainability and Resilience Conference, presented by the Indianapolis Airport Authority, will explore the theme Accelerating Climate Action in Indiana to underscore the necessity of hastening climate action across sectors in Indiana. As we have experienced, the impacts of climate change are being felt here and now. It is imperative Indiana move from planning to taking action as quickly and boldly as possible.
The 2021 Conference will have a two-fold focus: (1) Training individuals on how to take climate action in their capacity, as individuals or at an organization; (2) Providing small-group consulting to sustainability professionals at Indiana organizations that have begun climate action planning to accelerate their plans into action and results.
Greater Indiana is participating as a consultant for attendees in the private track of the conference.

Chicago Area Clean Cities, the American Lung Association and Greater Indiana Clean Cities, Inc. co-hosted the “Road to Emission Reductions: Path to Electric Vehicles Virtual Conference” on Sept. 14, 2021. Carmel Ride and Drive

The City of Carmel in partnership with the Greater Indiana Clean Cities, Inc. , Hoosier Electric Vehicle Association, Carmel Green Initiative, and Knozone is excited to announce that as part of the National Drive Electric Week we will be hosting an EV Ride and Drive on Saturday, September 11, 2021. This event will take place at and during our monthly Meet Me on Main event held on Main Street in Carmel, Indiana. Attendees will be able to test drive Electric Vehicles (EV’s), speak with EV owners and find out other important information regarding owning and charging EV’s in Carmel and Central Indiana from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the northeast corner of E. Main Street and N. Range Line Road.
EV Ride and Drive events give the public the chance to test out new electric vehicles from a wide variety of manufacturers. This year, Motor Drive and several local automotive dealers will have cars to test drive. There will be information about how to charge and where to charge EV’s, how they can improve air quality and reduce CO2 emissions, how you can charge with solar power, how much fun they are to drive, and how owning an EV can save you money.

Gary Parker serves as Engineering Program Director in the New Power business unit for Cummins Inc. New Power is a strategic business unit partnered with other Cummins complimentary business units focusing specifically on electrification and fuel cell technologies and products. Gary is responsible for developing and advancing New Power initiatives in the markets that Cummins serves. These initiatives include the movement of research and technology towards product commercialization. Gary also builds capabilities focusing on people, capital, business integration, and product. Gary has been an employee at Cummins Inc. for 24 years and has served in various technical roles in the electrification space for the last 11 years. Gary has a Bachelor and Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from The Ohio State University with a focus on Systems and Controls and a Master of Business Administration from the Indiana University Kelley School of Business.
Courtney Kingery is the CEO of the Indiana Soybean Alliance and the Indiana Corn Marketing Council. In leading the state’s corn and soybean checkoff programs, her focus is on building domestic and global demand for corn and soybeans, funding practical research projects that benefit production agriculture, and educating both farmers and consumers about the benefits of farm products.

Vehicles, equipment, and the fuels that power them have changed significantly in recent years. Alternative fuels are becoming increasingly more available in the marketplace. National, state, and local goals for reducing vehicle emissions and increasing the use of domestic and renewable fuel sources have required new pollution control equipment, reduced sulfur levels in fuel, and increased use of biofuels like ethanol and biodiesel.
Please join us for an in-depth overview of petroleum fuels (gasoline/diesel), ethanol, biodiesel, and renewable diesel; their characteristics, benefits, and considerations; and storage and handling best practices. MEG Corp is an ASE-Accredited CASE Provider to administer and issue Continuing Automotive Service Education (CASE) CEUs. CEUs will be available for eligible participants. To qualify as a CASE activity and meet the criteria to earn CEUs, participants must complete and submit the following materials:
1. The pretest emailed to the registrants before the workshop
2. The evaluation form at the end of the workshop
3. The posttest emailed to the participants after the workshop*
*An 80% or higher score is required to receive a “Certificate of Completion” to obtain the CEU. Participants who do not receive at least an 80% receive a “Certificate of Attendance.”
We also ask that you complete the survey emailed to the participants 30 days after the workshop. Although this is not a requirement to earn CEUs, your feedback is valuable to gauge whether the information covered was valuable and applicable to your professional life. Participants who complete the exit survey will also receive a chance to win a 20-quart RTIC cooler.
Four virtual fuel workshops will cover information on petroleum fuels, ethanol, biodiesel, and renewable diesel. The workshops are free of charge. The sessions repeat to allow attendance flexibility. The workshops will run for an estimated 2.5 hours on Tuesday, June 22nd, and Thursday, July 22nd. A .25 CEU will be offered once the participants meet all criteria (1 CEU credit requires 10 hours of contact time, 2.5-hour workshops = .25 CEUs).

OKI’s EV Infrastructure Funding webinar
