In the U.S., 52% of employees feel their employers should do more for the environment. Embracing clean transportation at workplaces, particularly electric vehicles (EVs), is crucial for supporting the nation’s net-zero emission goals. With 60% of EV drivers needing workplace charging, the projected 26 million EVs on U.S. roads by 2030 will necessitate 1.3 million workplace chargers. Many employees, especially those in multifamily housing, rely on workplaces for EV charging. Providing an EV-ready workplace demonstrates sustainability leadership, reduces carbon footprint, and lowers pollution from employee commutes.
Greater Indiana is proud to be an implementation partner for the Electric Vehicle Adoption Leadership (EVAL) program. EVAL is a national workplace charging certification that recognizes employers promoting clean transportation. Employers gain certification points by filling out a questionnaire that assesses their efforts toward promoting clean transportation at their workplaces and supporting employees to travel sustainably. This can include the availability of electric vehicle (EV) charging, carpooling, biking, and public transportation options, and incentives for sustainable employee commuting. EVAL is open to employers of all sizes and industries, offering a roadmap for clean transportation adoption and signaling leadership in sustainability and climate action.
EVAL helps you to get the information, identify milestones, and give you the technical support you need to pursue them. The Forth team hosts biweekly information sessions about the EVAL certification process, benefits, and recognition. Register for an upcoming webinar session and contact the Greater Indiana team to learn more about the EVAL program and how your organization can become a clean commute employer.
