The City of Huntington has received a nearly $500,000 Indiana Department of Transportation Community Crossings grant, presented by Gov. Eric Holcomb and other officials. The grant will facilitate the reconstruction of Division Street in 2024, addressing long-standing soil and subsurface issues. Mayor Richard Strick highlighted that the grant, covering approximately 25% of the $2 million estimated cost, allows the city to bid for the complete reconstruction of Division Street, with construction set for 2024. The Community Crossings grant program is part of Gov. Holcomb’s Next Level Roads initiative, which aims to invest in local streets and roads.
