New Resource Helps Create Convenient EV Charging for All Americans

The Joint Office of Energy and Transportation (Joint Office) has released a whitepaper focusing on inclusive and innovative mobility solutions for communities, especially those in multifamily housing, aligning with the Biden-Harris Administration’s Justice40 initiative. Aimed at public officials, property owners, utilities, and stakeholders, the paper presents strategies beyond on-site EV charging for multifamily properties. These include streetlight charging, smart outlets, mobile charging, and “bring-your-own cord” approaches. The resource consists of case studies and example projects from the U.S. and Europe, emphasizing the importance of public charging accessibility for all community members, including those in multifamily housing.
