AES Indiana Approved to Build Solar Farm and Battery Storage Site in Dubois County

To celebrate Earth Day, AES Indiana announced the Pike County Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) is fully operational. Then, AES Indiana was approved for a new project in Dubois County.
Part of $1.1 billion in investments for Pike County from 2024 to 2026, BESS now has the “capacity to power more than 38,000 homes during peak demand periods, ensuring grid stability and reliability,” AES Indiana said in the press release. That’s 200 megawatts of electricity for up to four hours.
AES Indiana will buy and build project Crossvine, the development in Dubois County, from Lightsource bp.
Crossvine is expected to generate 85 megawatts of solar power, serving around 14,500 homes. Construction is expected to finish by mid-2027. Learn more…
