NGVi’s training courses ensure that employees are confident and safe working with natural gas vehicles and fueling, and have the necessary skills to do their jobs. Greater Indiana will be hosting NGVi’s most popular Technician Training Courses virtually with discounted rates for Greater Indiana members.
The courses offered include:
Level 1: NGV Essentials and Safety Practices (On Demand E-Learning)
With a focus on safety, this course teaches technicians and support team the fundamentals of natural gas, CNG and LNG fuel systems and maintenance practices for NGVs. This course is a prerequisite for technicians who will take CNG Fuel System Inspector Training or Heavy-Duty NGV Maintenance and Diagnostics Training.
Level 2: CNG Fuel System Inspector Training (Live Virtual Training)

This course provides NGV technicians with the proper techniques for inspecting CNG fuel systems, including onboard CNG fuel storage cylinders, according to all applicable codes, standards and best practices. This course prepares technicians to fully comply with the requirements covered by the most recent edition of NFPA 52.
Level 3: Heavy-Duty NGV Maintenance and Diagnostics Training (Live Virtual Training)

This intensive course prepares NGV technicians to safely and cost-effectively maintain and diagnose the components of the CNG fuel system. This course also covered the Cummins 12L, 9L, and 6.7L natural gas engines.
CNG Fuel System Inspector Certification Online Exam
The exam delivers a rigorous, independent assessment of the knowledge, competency, and application of skills necessary for technicians to properly conduct CNG fuel system inspections, according to all applicable codes, standards, and industry best practices. Participants who pass the certification exam will receive a certificant number, identification card and certification document. The certification is valid for a period of five years.
Live virtual training offers live instruction during scheduled sessions with NGVi trainers. Each session includes multiple breaks and an allotted lunch time. Prior to accessing the virtual classroom, students must complete the pre-requisite NGV Essentials and Safety Practices, which is delivered on-demand through NGVi’s e-learning platform.
