The Greater Indiana Clean Cities, Inc. team welcomed four new board members this summer, and we are pleased to share our newly appointed members to our 2023 board of directors. The board leadership team, in collaboration with organization staff, will guide Greater Indiana’s plans to advance alternative, domestic-fueled transportation, including energy-efficient technologies across all sectors in Indiana. The 501(c)3 organization serves the entire state of Indiana, working with public and private sector members.
Greater Indiana welcomes Victoria Herring, Project Manager for the IEDC North Region Attractions, to the board. Victoria focuses on alternative fuels’ role in the future of Indiana’s economy. When asked how her role will support the Greater Indiana mission, she stated, “Businesses have a huge interest in economic and environmental sustainability, and Greater Indiana helps drive both. Indiana has established itself as a leader in the energy transition, and my role at IEDC helps drive the mission of Greater Indiana.” Welcome, Victoria!
Continuing to connect community and economy in Indiana, Greater Indiana welcomes Inez Evans, President and CEO of IndyGo. Inez oversees Indiana’s largest transit agency. Inez is looking forward to the partnership with Greater Indiana to further integrate alternative fuels and technologies to support the “mission to connect our community to cultural and economic opportunities through safe, reliable, and accessible mobility experiences.”
We look forward to hearing Inez’s insight on the transportation industry as she continues to make IndyGo a leader in sustainable transit system initiatives. Welcome, Inez!
Another key industry in our mission for advancing energy-efficient technologies is the utility industry. Greater Indiana welcomes Michael Straub, Senior Products and Services Manager, Midwest Fleet Electrification for Duke Energy, to our board of directors. Michael brings his expertise on infrastructure and electrification needs and provides additional insight into the process of fleet electrification and alternative fuel transitions. With the support of Michael’s knowledge, our team can educate and advocate for these technologies through case studies and past relationships. Welcome, Michael!
Rounding out our new board member introductions, Greater Indiana welcomes Dr. Greg Shaver, Director of Herrick Labs and Professor of Mechanical Engineering at Purdue University. Our universities are vital to providing the research and data our team brings to the public. Dr. Shaver leads “a research group focused on reducing the carbon, NOx and soot emissions of high-efficiency next generation on- and off-road IC engines — including those: (i.) incorporated in electrified powertrains; and (ii.) using biodiesel, natural gas, ethanol, and hydrogen.” Welcome, Dr. Shaver!
