U.S. DOE’s Clean Cities Program Announces Major 2013 Petroleum-Reduction Milestone

For the first time, the program and its stakeholders reduced U.S. foreign oil consumption by more than 1 billion gallons in a single year. Clean Cities’ efforts in 2013 prevented the production of 7.5 million tons of greenhouse gas emissions, which is equivalent to removing 1.5 million cars from the road. This achievement puts the program well on its way to reducing 2.5 billion gallons, a year, by 2020.

Thanks to our members, the Greater Indiana Clean Cities Coalition reduced over 10,000,000 gallons of foreign oil in 2013.
